Chaos has met its match

Witness a transformation within yourself...

Patients often find their way to me when in crisis such as a recent relationship breakup, job loss or an emotional episode. My history working as a crisis psychologist helps guide this type of interaction, and I refer to this as “chaos control.”

Once we stabilize the situation, people find that establishing routines, and developing tools and skills, help to prevent the crisis from recurring or mitigates the impact of the next crisis.

Making a Difference

My clinical work strives to destigmatize cognitive challenges, disorders and mental illness. Many people talk about equity, inclusion, and diversity; yet cognitive diversity, for example, is rarely understood or appreciated. I encourage people to embrace their differences and develop strategies for cognitive challenges to operate effortlessly in the world.

The Cognitive Coaching Impact

  1. Improved problem-solving skills: coaching can help individuals develop strategies for identifying and solving problems, such as breaking tasks into smaller steps, brainstorming potential solutions, and evaluating the pros and cons of each option.

  2. Enhanced critical thinking skills: coaching can teach individuals how to analyze and evaluate information, ask probing questions, and think more deeply about problems and issues.

  3. Improved decision-making skills: coaching can help individuals clarify their values and goals, and develop a process for making informed decisions.

  4. Greater self-awareness: coaching can help individuals become more self-aware by teaching them how to recognize their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how to use this awareness to make positive changes in their lives.

  5. Increased confidence and independence: by learning new skills and setting and achieving goals, individuals may feel more confident and capable.

Overall, the coaching process is designed to help my patients achieve their goals and make lasting positive changes in their lives.
